With these estimates, met- coke which is a basic raw material in steel production, will be required in a scale of 100 million tonnes per annum (MTA). Installed capacity of Met-Coke /LAM Coke production in India is around 50 MTA, hence another 50 MTA with conservative estimate ,needs to be added for INDIA to reach its crude steel capacity of 300 MT in 2030-31.
